After a busy summer and brief hiatus, Lee and the band are back in pre-production for the recording of her 6th CD to begin shortly. Stay tuned for upcoming CD Release Show date to be announced!


DEMISE OF GREAT LOCAL LIVE VENUE:
The Stagecoach Inn, location of the Old Groton Open-Mic where Lee often performed, burned down on August 2nd. The historic 333-year old inn held many fond memories for local performers, where GS Picard held her popular Open-Mic series on Friday evenings. GS is now continuing the series at the Main Street Cafe in Groton.

Lee is thrilled to announce that Rosalfonso Bortoni has joined the Lee Villaire Band on lead guitar! Ros, who hails from Brazil, is a gifted guitarist who brings a rich style of playing to the musical mix. Look for him to debut with the band on the upcoming CD!

Lee was nominated in 3 categories in this year’s Pulse Magazine Worcester Music Awards!!  Her CD “Curious” was nominated for Best CD, and she garnered nods for Best Pop Act and Sexiest Musician!

The Bull Run show on January 28^th with Ken Macy was SOLD OUT!!!!  Thanks to all the great supporters and friends who came out to make this a more than memorable night!

Stepping in after Desireé Bassett’s last-minute cancellation, Ken will just as easily blow you away.  He’s recorded four CDs and has played at hundreds of venues throughout New England. Ken’s won four Worcester Music Awards within the last two years and has had his music featured on 92.5 The River's "Home Grown Radio Show" and 106.3 Frank FM. His musical style has been compared to the sounds of John Fogerty, The Eagles and Tom Petty. "Macy exhibits a superb guitar tone that features a distinctive growl. Friday, January 28^th – Live at the Bull Run in Shirley!  Lee teams up with teen guitar prodigy Desirée Bassett for a sure-to-be-memorable show. Desirée is an amazing 18 year old guitarist who’s performed with Sammy Hagar, the Marshall Tucker Band and Rick Derringer! Lee will be joined by her awesome band and will showcase new songs off of her upcoming 6^th CD, as is rumored to be performing a song together with Desirée! Show is at 8pm, doors open at 6. As the promotion kicks off for her new CD "Curious", Lee was selected to perform a showcase at the Dewey Beach Music Conference in Delaware on October 2nd.  This was Lee's first performance at this music industry event, and her ballad "Hold On To Me" created quite the buzz. Stay tuned!

Besides promoting the new CD, Lee is finishing up writing the next batch of songs for her upcoming 6th release, expected to be launched in the spring.  You can preview some of the new songs at a special show happening at the Bull Run in Shirley MA on January 28th!

Lee returns to her native Montreal for a benefit concert for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) at Bourbon Street West, Saturday August 7^th at 7:30pm.  She’s bringing her full band for this show, to help local runner Sjef Beekmans, who’s raising funds for the Nike 2010 Women’s Marathon “Team in Training”, taking place in October.

Launch show for the new CD “Curious” will be JULY 10TH! Boston on June 13th!! Lee and the band will be playing in Boston for the first time, at the Middle East Upstairs. Early Sunday evening show, doors open at 7pm. Maria Jordan from England kicks off the night at 7:30 – Lee and the band come on at 8:30. NEXT UP: a full band show on April 8th at the Bull Run in Shirley MA with special guest 16 year old Angela Rossi!! An early show, 7 to 9pm, Lee and the band will perform songs from the new CD and a few surprises!

After a successful slew of shows, Lee and the band are in studio now recording her 5th CD ~ targeting a release date of May! Featuring Richard Buck on drums, Kris Lucander on bass, Jay Sharron on guitar and Adam Bergeron on keyboard, the new CD titled “Curious”, showcases a rockier sound than on her last release and a new version of one of Lee’s most popular love songs!

Tickets are now available for the Feb. 13th “Chicks for Charity” Valentine’s fundraising show at the Four Points by Sheraton in Leominster for the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Lee and her full band (Jay Sharron, Kris Lucander, Adam Bergeron and Richard Buck) will be playing all the new songs from her upcoming CD, and will be joined by special guests Elizabeth Lorrey, The Rafters and GS Picard!

A full band show on Sat., February 13th! A “Chicks for Charity” Valentine’s fundraising event at the Gazebo Lounge/Four Points Sheraton in Leominster for the Heart & Stroke Foundation – with Very Special guests: Elizabeth Lorrey, The Rafters and GS Picard! Four women with their musicians, will make this a memorable evening for a great cause. The Sheraton will also be offering a discounted romantic getaway package, details to follow!

Richard Buck brings his formidable talent on board as the new drummer in Lee’s band! He replaces Tom Ruckey, a dear friend who has decided to leave and pursue his new love of playing bass and is wished all the very best. Rich will join Lee in the studio in January and will kick off his first live show with the band on February 13th!

It’s official – Lee and the band will be going back into the studio this winter to record her 5th CD, targeting a launch date of March 2010! Rehearsals are now underway with the challenging task of narrowing down which songs to record from Lee’s collection of 20 newbies. She's excited to bring these talented musicians into the studio to work on this new project. Let the magic begin!

The double-bill show with GS Picard on October 10th was a huge success! A slew of fans and friends came out to see Lee and Gayle with their bands, rocking the house down in the newly renovated, 300 seat Sawtelle Room at the Bull Run in Shirley, MA. The gals surprised the crowd with encore performances of Jeff Root’s classic “Zombie” and a kick-*ss cover of Heart’s “Magic Man”. Thanks to everyone who came out ~! Lee welcomes to the band talented guitarist, Jay Sharron – another New England cream-of-the-crop musician! Jay is well known and respected in the area and replaces Dave Gaudet who has decided to leave the band to pursue his solo career. He’s wished all the best. Join Jay for his first show with Lee at the Nashoba Winery on July 12th!
